Loneliness
What if loneliness makes total sense?!
What if being lonely is absolutely natural and normal, and it's just us who exaggerate and villainize it all this times. What if it's us who get too used to overconsumption and how quick the world turns, and how FOMO we are scrolling through social media. What if people's life updates put us in a lower place and make us think we're obligated to be pretty, fun, happy, and always surrounded by loving friends or lovers.
By holding this piece of idea tightly, my life could change like a flip of the hand. I might stop mourning over my personal traits that mean no harm but are also not very likable. Making a new friend would no longer be my ultimate life goal. I might even stop trying to blend into tech communities and online platforms, and start to appreciate creating my little invisible corner on the internet. Re-learn being patient and setting realistic expectations for myself.
Yes, "Third places won't save us", Alice Cappelle said in a YouTube video I watched.
Maybe life could be simpler than we thought. Imagine a world without all the craziness of greedy social media, being alone might not cause this heavy loneliness in the first place. And even when loneliness visits us sometimes, it wouldn't sound so bad.
